Weekly Batá Workshops
21 May, 2012I am very thrilled to announce a new weekly NYC bata drum class on saturdays from 1030a.m. to 1230p.m.
The objective of this class is to learn the different rhythms of the oru cantado with their respective songs. The oru cantado is the second part of a tambor (ceremony) consisting of a series of songs sung for each of the orichas. Together with my friend Ray Alcantara, we will be teaching you the different patterns of the three drums as well as the appropriate songs.
For more info or sign up for the class, please contact Jerome at http://www.jeromegoldschmidt.com/contact-form/index.php
